Michael Hurta
president@udems.org		 Michael is a Government senior from Houston, TX, where his interest in politics began when Jim Henley ran for Congress in 2006. Since then, he’s interned with Rick Noriega U.S. Senate, Bill White for Texas, and Rep. Diana Maldonado’s legislative office. He spent this past summer working at Stanley-Garrison and Associates, a Democratic campaign finance firm. Before serving as president, Michael was a committee chair and the Public Relations Director.
Vice President
Billy Calve
vice@udems.org		 Billy is a second year Government and History major from Dickinson, Texas, in coastal Galveston County. Prior to becoming Vice President he served as Mobilization Committee Co-Chair and interned last spring in the political division of Annie’s List PAC. He enjoys the music and food Austin has to offer, and counts FDR and Barbara Jordan as his personal heroes.
Public Relations Director
Cameron Miculka
pr@udems.org		 Cameron is a second year Journalism major from Weimar, Texas. He has been a member of University Democrats and previously served as an assistant co-chair for the organization’s Policy Committee. Cameron is also an active member of Masonic lodges in Weimar and Austin. His other interests include cooking, reading and music.

Jacklyn Verdin
secretary@udems.org		 Jacklyn is a fourth year Government major from Lyford, Texas. She has been a member of UDems since Spring 2008, which includes time served as chair of the Fundraising Committee in Spring 2010. Outside of UDems she serves as the Student Outreach Director for the Sierra Club and is involved with Sierra Student Coaltion’s Campuses Beyond Coal Campaign.

Elise Miller
treasurer@udems.org		 Elise is a third year student majoring in Government and Sociology from Dallas, Texas. Elise has held internships with John Edwards for President (finance department), Eberstein & Witherite, Perla Cavazos for Austin City Council (field department), and is currently interning with Progressive Capitol Group . Prior to becoming Treasurer for the University Democrats she served as the Fundraising Committee Chair for two semesters. In her free time Elise enjoys baking, dancing, and playing with dogs.

Dancey Glover
events@udems.org		 Dancey is a second year Liberal Arts Honors Government Major from Austin, TX. Dancey has been a member of University Democrats since Fall 2009. Before serving as Events Chair, she served as a committee chair for the Mobilization Committee. Dancey also currently serves as Programs Director for Texas College Democrats and has interned with the Travis County Democratic Party as well as State Representative Mark Strama. In her spare time, Dancey enjoys reading, friendly debates, and the company of good friends.

volunteer@udems.org		 Alejandro is a third year Government major from Corpus Christi, Texas. He has been a member of the University Democrats since the fall of 2008, which includes time served as a chair of the Membership Committee in the spring of 2010. He is also an Outreach Director for OxFam UT and an active member of the TexasRunning Club.

Katy Eyberg
historian@udems.org		 Katy is a second year Liberal Arts Honors Spanish and UTeach student from El Paso. She enjoys bicycling, reading, making people laugh, and photographing UDems. Her heroes include Dolores Huerta, Tina Fey, and Joe “BFD” Biden.
